Caprice
The name Caprice describes a musical composition that seems lively, playful, and spontaneous – often even born out of a whim. Our Capriccio also originated from a spontaneous idea: namely, to cultivate the Portuguese grape variety Alvarinho in Bordeaux. It grows – just as atypically for Alvarinho – on a small, sandy plot of 0.13 hectares, and the yields are correspondingly low, sometimes less than 100 bottles per year.
On the nose, it surprises with a phenolic profile atypical for Alvarinho, reminiscent in a blind tasting of a mature Burgundy rather than a Vino Verde. This playful nature of aromas makes it the ideal representative of the musical form of the Caprice.
Since a wine made from 100% Alvarinho is not provided for in the Bordeaux regulations, this wine is classified as Vin de France and therefore may not use the words "Chateau" and "Bordeaux" on the label.
Caprice is served exclusively at our concerts; unfortunately, it is not available for individual purchase.
