Nearly twenty hectares of woodland, meadows, vines and a manor house — at the gates of Bordeaux.
Three names, one place.
The lieu-dit “aux Conseillans” comprises nearly twenty hectares of woodland, meadows, vines and buildings. The historic manor house is named Château aux Conseillans; the wine estate where our wines are made, LaSuite aux Conseillans. Together they form the Domaine — nestled within its own nature reserve.
On the walls of an older house.
In 1749, Pierre Daban-Broca, a citizen of Bordeaux, acquired the estate; his son Jacques had today's Château built on it, on the footprint of an older building. The staircase from the time before still stands today.
A cradle of modern oenology.
The roots of modern oenology lie closer than one might think — here, on the Domaine. For decades it was the wine estate of Jean Ribéreau-Gayon, one of the co-founders of modern oenology. His legacy is still at work in every decision today.
A family estate, run by hand.
Marc and Ellen Ruhland took over the Domaine in 2023 — and run it with a small team that tends the vineyard, the cellar and the animals with the same patience.
