A nature reserve of our own since 1975 — we are its keepers, not its owners.
A green cathedral.
A mosaic of springs, meadows and old stands of trees frames the plots. The forest belt softens the winds and regulates the microclimate — the basis for a balance you later find in the glass.
Building soil up, rather than using it up.
Permanent cover crops, hedgerows and flowering strips are the Domaine's immune system — they encourage beneficial insects that regulate pests naturally. Organic and HVE4 secure this: no synthetic agents, plus an external audit that assesses biodiversity, plant protection, fertilisation and water.
Preserve, do not consume.
We do not irrigate — in Bordeaux it is the law, for us a principle. Our vines root deep through clay and gravel; we keep the area's springs intact.
A stage for many.
In the damp leaves the fire salamander glistens, above the rows of vines the hoopoe calls — it nests only in intact vineyards like ours —, and at night the genet slips past. We follow their rhythm and keep the pace calm.
Our flying laboratory.
Our bee colonies are ambassadors of diversity — and laboratory assistants at the same time: from their honey we read how pure the surroundings are. From it the Miel des Vignes is born.
The fermata.
The sign to hold a note — for as long as it wants to sound. In the same way, this place calmly listens to its own sound.
