The Repertoire

Our Repertoire

Each wine a movement of our suite – each vintage a movement of its own.

Climate & Character

Five hectares of vines across sixteen plots, each vinified separately, plus Sauvignon Blanc from leased sites in the neighbourhood. At LaSuite aux Conseillans, each wine contributes its own movement – like the movements of a musical suite. Ellen, a concert pianist, has assigned a work to every cuvée.

We think more in terms of Burgundy's climats than the usual Bordeaux order: every plot, every site may find its own expression.

The Prélude is a rosé from pure Malbec, fermented directly in large barrique and aged in it for twelve months. The Sarabande gathers all four of the estate's red varieties from seven plots into one bottle every year. And Louré rests so long in oval clay amphorae that what remains of the usual Sauvignon sharpness is a calm, gastronomic texture. Each of our wines has a character of its own, recognisable across vintages – and a place of its own in the composition of the estate.

We work on a small surface and deliberately in small quantities. From several distinctly different terroirs come wines that are not standardised, but precisely elaborated.

This way of working recalls the thinking of Burgundy's climats more than the classic Bordeaux logic of first and second wines: every parcel, every exposure, sometimes even every barrel may develop its own expression. Thus diversity arises not from quantity, but from attention.

As a boutique winery, we craft each cuvée with great care and work ecologically – with the clear goal of regenerative agriculture. We intervene to standardise as little as possible and give our wines the time to find their character.

That is why we only release them when they are ready to drink. Not every wine is available at all times; some are held back, others appear later or only in limited numbers.

Why that is, you can read here: Why some wines are not available every year.

This attitude shapes our entire range. Our wines are born of patience, precision and trust in the place. They are the expression of an approach that puts depth before speed – and quality before availability.

White Wines

Bottle of Caprice, white wine from Alvarinho by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Caprice

Flint & Freshness – a solitary voice in the Bordelais

♫ Igor Stravinsky | Capriccio (1929) | 3. Satz 100% Alvarinho
Collection Caprice

The winemaker's whim: a rarity made from Alvarinho.
This wine stands outside our series – a Portuguese variety practically not to be found in Bordeaux, on a single sandy plot at the edge of the wood, the only soil of its kind on the Domaine. The vines have stood there since 2019. The wine matures under strict exclusion of air, the way a few white-wine estates in Burgundy work – hence the flinty note.
In the glass, struck match and wet stone, with a saline trace; on the palate it stays sinewy and cool. There are only a few bottles, and most of them are drunk at the estate itself.

Bottle of Louré, white wine from Sauvignon Blanc by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Louré

Complex & Aged – a great white for the table

♫ Johann Sebastian Bach | Louré | Partita Nr. 3 E-Dur, BWV 1006 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Collection Louré

Louré, a Baroque dance of measured, solemn character and emphasised line, stands for serious grace and noble expression – qualities that also shape this wine. In both the vineyard and the cellar, the pursuit of balance was paramount.

This Sauvignon Blanc is vinified in a fuller, gastronomic style, with a ripe, multifaceted fruit profile that combines depth and expression. The long maturation in oval clay amphorae allows a natural movement of the lees over many months and gives the wine an enveloping, precisely structured texture of remarkable calm and long ageing potential.

The long, harmonious finish makes Louré a wine that connects time and table – whether with fish in sauce, poultry or fine cheese. A wine that does not merely accompany, but reveals new facets with every glass.

Rosé

Bottle of Prélude, rosé from Malbec by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Prélude

The Opening in Rosé – clear & precise

♫ Johanna Summer | Improvisation über Ravels Prélude 100% Malbec
Collection Prélude

The opening: a rosé full of character and saline minerality.
Our Prélude is more than a rosé – it is the first movement of our suite and sets the tone. Unlike typical Bordeaux rosés, we rely here on 100% Malbec. The result is no trivial summer wine, but a structured, salmon-coloured rosé with real personality that combines a dancing lightness with seriousness.

Red Wines

Bottle of Gigue, red wine by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Gigue

Movement & Freshness – vividly composed

♫ Robert Schumann | Gigue | Vier Klavierstücke, Op. 32 Red Bordeaux blend, Merlot-dominant
Collection Gigue

The Gigue usually closes a suite – lively & uplifting. With us, the Gigue opens the collection of the great red wines.

The Gigue shows juicy cherry fruit, violet and a hint of white pepper. Up to the 2020 vintage it aged in concrete vats, from 2021 in amphora – a small share of barrique remains in both cases. The minimal use of oak preserves freshness and approachability.

Bottle of Sarabande, red wine by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Sarabande

Depth & Gravity – the centre of the suite

♫ Claude Debussy | Sarabande | Pour le piano, L. 95 Red Bordeaux blend, Merlot with Cabernets
Collection Sarabande

Slow, dignified, of quiet complexity – that is how a sarabande sounds, that is how this wine tastes.

This cuvée is the heart of our estate and is composed each year of all the red grape varieties of the property. Thanks to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, it unfolds flavours of dark berries, cocoa and graphite, underlined by the earthy notes of Cabernet Franc.

As a rule, 18 months in mostly used barriques lend depth without heaviness. A multifaceted red wine that invites you to pause and gains in complexity over the years.

Bottle of Allemande, red wine by LaSuite aux Conseillans

Allemande

Structure & Poise – calm, clear, long

♫ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart | Allemande | Suite C-Dur, KV 399 Cabernet-based Bordeaux blend
Collection Allemande

In Bach's suite, the Allemande stands at the beginning – a calm, ordered movement, dignified and carried by inner tension. In our cellar it stands at the end: of all our wines it needs the longest time, which is why it is the last to leave the estate. Both belong together.

It is a movement of particular weight, demanding concentration, time and the right measure – in the vineyard as in the cellar. This is exactly how this wine unfolds: precise, structured and built to last.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc shape its backbone, complemented by a little Merlot that lends depth and balance. Blackcurrant, graphite and fine spices define the aromatic profile, carried by dense, ripe tannins. The ageing follows the wine, not the other way round, allowing power and length to arise without heaviness. Only in years when everything comes together does this wine find its place in the suite. Powerful, but quiet.
