Transparency in viticulture: disclosure, not intent

The standard

The disclosed chain of decisions requires that every statement remain traceable back to the decision from which it arises.

Criteria

• Every statement names its basis: measurement, tasting or assumption
• The omitted intervention counts as a decision and remains identifiable
• Assumptions about future development are marked as assumptions
• The statement remains verifiable without having to be believed

Distinction

Transparency ≠ completeness: what decides is not the quantity of statements but the traceability of a single one. Transparency ≠ certification: a seal confirms a norm, it discloses no decision. The disclosed chain of decisions shows itself in a declared drinking window: it names its basis or it does not.
