Das Terroir: Caprice

The Caprice grows on a single, small plot at the edge of the forest: C15, a sandy soil unlike anywhere else on the Domaine. Here stands the Alvarinho, a Portuguese grape variety practically nowhere to be found in Bordeaux — planted in 2019, so still young vines. Sand, a foreign variety and our reductive signature yield a wine with flinty, saline minerality that exists in this form nowhere else.
