And yet an uncertainty remains. Not: is it good? But: is it the right one today?
Will it feel fresh and taut – or warm and round? Is it carried by tension – or does it flow through its smoothness? This is exactly where points reach their limit. They rate performance. They do not explain style.
When notes turn poetic
The classic wine description responds to this gap with images: cassis, undergrowth, tobacco, violets. That can be apt. And it stays subjective. To deduce from these images how a wine actually feels – how dense, how demanding, how approachable – takes experience. And translation.
We wanted to reduce this translation work. Not to simplify wine, but to make decisions clearer.

What a "10" on the radar actually means
The scale from 0 to 10 describes intensity, not quality. A high tannin reading is not "better". A strong fruit is not "of higher quality".
Many great wines are distinguished precisely by the fact that no single axis dominates, but that the profile stays balanced. The radar does not celebrate extremes. It makes proportions visible.
Why we understand the profile as the cuvée's DNA
A frequent question is: would such a profile not have to be created anew for every vintage?
Vintages change nuances. A cool year can emphasise the acidity, a warm one the fruit. Yet a consistently conceived cuvée has a recognisable architectural intention. It is exactly this basic form that the radar maps – on the plateau of drinking maturity.
It is not a vintage diary. It is the structural identity of the wine. We show how the wine is built – not what the weather was like.
