About Us & The Vision
Chateau LaSuite is run by entrepreneur Marc Ruhland (founder of the All-in Group, formerly myposter) and concert pianist Ellen Ruhland-Seidel. The couple acquired the winery in 2023 to combine their entrepreneurial expertise and artistic passion in a "New Bordeaux" project.
Domaine aux Conseillans is the historic winery (the location, the buildings, the vineyards) with a long tradition in Bordeaux. Chateau LaSuite is the modern wine brand that Marc and Ellen founded in 2023. We produce our wines at Domaine aux Conseillans, but under a new philosophy and the name LaSuite.
"New Bordeaux" represents our approach of breaking with old traditions. We focus on radical transparency, ecological responsibility, and technological innovation (e.g., drones). Above all, we only sell wines that have matured to perfect drinking maturity in our cellars.
Philosophy, Music & Nature
The name is derived from the musical suite. Our philosophy is that wine functions like a composition: each of our cuvées corresponds to a movement of a suite. They are independent characters, but together they form a harmonious whole that reflects our terroir.
Yes, music is part of our DNA. Chateau LaSuite is an open house where concerts are held regularly. We actively support young musical talents and create spaces where wine and classical music can be experienced together.
We also play classical music on our vineyards every day.
Sustainability is our foundation. Our winery is located in the heart of a nature reserve established in 1975. We began the conversion to organic farming in 2016 and have been certified accordingly since 2023.
We also have the highest French environmental label, the HVNE4.
Our goal is to operate a regenerative agriculture within a few years.
Terroir, Technology & Innovation
We have a rare diversity in a very small area. Our 16 plots
are distributed across four different terroirs: gravel lens, red clay,
mineral sand and siliceous clay.
Each plot is cultivated and developed separately in order to make these nuances perceptible in the bottle.
We combine traditional craftsmanship with high-tech. As one of only 15 wineries in the Bordeaux region, we use licensed drone technology to treat the vines. Furthermore, we manage our soil drainage and cultivation based on scientific analyses and in collaboration with the University of Bordeaux.
To maximize quality and precisely highlight the character of the soil, we deliberately limit quantity. Fewer grapes per vine mean greater concentration, aroma, and depth in every single berry.
Our Products & Enjoyment
Our wines arrive "ready to drink". We store them in our cellars until they reach their ideal initial drinking maturity.
This means that as a customer you don't have to wait years before you can open your wines, but you can still easily store our wines (especially the red wines Gigue and Sarabande ) for many years.
Like a musical prelude, this wine is the light, fresh opening. It is
Playful, fruity, and ideal for summer or as an aperitif. It shows,
that a Bordeaux rosé can combine elegance and lightness without being boring.
These wines are the centerpieces of our suite. The gigue is often lively and
The latter is powerful, while the Sarabande stands for depth, complexity, and a contemplative calm. Both red wines reflect the classic Bordeaux blend (Merlot and Cabernet), interpreted with modern precision.
We focus on the classic grape varieties of the "Rive Droite" (Right Bank) in Bordeaux. Merlot plays the leading role, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, complemented by smaller proportions of Malbec.
Yes, we bottle limited quantities in Magnum (1.5L), Double Magnum (3.0L), and special sizes up to Melchior (18L). Since these formats are extremely rare, they are primarily reserved for our club members ("Le Virtuose"). Remaining stock can occasionally be found in our online shop.
Service, Shipping & Wine Club
We deliver to most European countries as well as all major industrialized nations. The minimum order value is 4 bottles of wine.
However, for some countries, you as the customer may have to pay import duties or taxes.
Yes, we welcome visitors. As we are a working winery, we kindly ask you to register by email or telephone so that we can set aside time for a tour of the cellar and a tasting.
Quality is our top priority. Should a bottle unexpectedly be faulty (corked), we will replace it without hesitation. Simply contact us, and we will find a solution immediately.
Our wine club is the direct line to the Château. Members receive access to
limited bottlings, invitations to exclusive concerts and events on the
Domaine and preferential prices when purchasing our wines.
We generally only sell our wines when they are ready to drink.
Subscription (En Primeur) of our wines – especially our future flagship wine "Allemande" (launching in 2027) – is exclusively reserved for members of our wine club. This guarantees that our most loyal customers have priority access to limited quantities.
