Transparency in wine: verifiable, not claimed

The standard

The evidenced disclosure names origin, methods and interventions so that they are verifiable, not merely claimed. The measure is verifiability, not the quantity of words.

Criteria

  • Origin and methods are named and verifiable
  • Interventions are stated, not only the flattering ones
  • The statement is verifiable, not merely assured
  • Even leaving out a detail is a statement

Distinction

Transparency ≠ advertising: advertising selects what pleases, transparency also shows the uncomfortable. The evidenced disclosure separates the verifiable statement from the mere assurance.
