In 2023, a new chapter began here.

Our Story

Marc and Ellen Ruhland took over the Domaine aux Conseillans and have been realigning it step by step ever since. This is the path that led there.

The Path

From entrepreneur to winegrower.

Until 2023, Marc Ruhland built up the All-in Group together with his brother René — from 2011 onwards into one of the leading companies in the digital printing industry, which today employs around 450 people. Those years are currently being filmed for an Amazon documentary to be released in 2026.

Marc remains connected to the group as an advisory board member. With Ellen Ruhland, he was looking for a way out of city life in Munich and for a calling that would bring their two passions together — and in which the children grow up with a second language and culture.

The Stage

The Domaine aux Conseillans.

With the purchase of the Domaine aux Conseillans, Marc and Ellen found the place for this chapter. The estate was familiar to connoisseurs for its historic heritage and its role in the development of modern viticulture — here, Jean Ribéreau-Gayon worked for decades, one of the co-founders of modern oenology and a long-standing owner.

Marc and Ellen recognised the potential to continue writing this story. And so LaSuite aux Conseillans came to be.

Realignment

Invested in precision and ecology.

In the years following the takeover, Marc and Ellen renewed the estate technically. A new cellar allows the precise ageing of even the smallest plots, and a water-balance management system based on soil analyses by the University of Bordeaux supplies each of the 16 plots individually. They deliberately reduced the yield per hectare so that the character of the terroir emerges more clearly.

They pursue the ecological path with consistency. The estate has been designated a nature reserve since 1975; 2,000 new plantings have broadened its biodiversity. For plant health, they use drones — as one of only fifteen estates licensed to do so in the Bordelais. More on this under Ecology & Responsibility.

The Soul

Here, wine and music belong together.

Today, LaSuite aux Conseillans stands for a distinctive signature in fine dining and among private collectors. The way we bring wine and music together shapes this place: the pianist Ellen Ruhland introduces the next generation to classical music through open formats and the support of young talent — for her, it is above all about accessibility.

For Marc and Ellen, the precision drawn from entrepreneurship and the devotion to art belong together — this attitude stands behind every cuvée.

More about us

Discover the estate.

Who we are reveals itself in several places — from the estate and its history, through our attitude, to wine and music.

“A New Bordeaux that carries tradition forward and revives it — through ecology, precision and openness.”
Our Vision

We compose wines that show their origin — and open the estate to music.
