The fermata
Quality before speed
The fermata represents a conscious pause: a short breath that creates focus and gives meaning to what follows. This is how we work – calmly, clearly, prioritizing quality over speed.
What is a fermata?
In musical notation, the fermata is the symbol for a deliberate pause. It appears above a note or a rest and signals to the musician: Here the strict time signature ends. The note is held longer than the metronome indicates – as long as the feeling demands. It is the moment when time is stretched to create tension before the melody continues.
Room for depth
This is precisely the principle we apply. The fermata reminds us to invest time : in maturation, in precise decisions, in patient cellar work. It is our symbol for the fact that depth arises when you give the wine – like a note – the space it needs.
A moment of peace
In a time when so much seems rushed, we consciously create a counterpoint: a brief pause to perceive, to reflect – before moving on. This is also how we envision the enjoyment of our wines: a moment of peace, a short break in which the depth of the moment unfolds.
Invitation and promise
That's why we chose the fermata as our symbol. It stands for concentration instead of haste, for depth instead of effects, for the art of letting the essential speak for itself.
On our label it is both an invitation and a promise: a short break – and then a wine that continues to resonate with calm and poise.
