What is a fermata?
In musical notation, the fermata is the sign for a deliberate pause. It sits above a note or a rest and suspends the strict beat for a moment: the note is held longer than the metronome dictates — for as long as the music needs. Time stretches, tension builds, and only then does the melody move on.
It is the moment in which a musician pauses, listens to the sound and lets it ring out before continuing. A short, deliberate hold that gives strength to what follows.

Like the held note, we give each wine the time between harvest and release — often several years — and bring it to market only when it carries. We bear the ageing risk of those years before a bottle leaves the estate. That is how the sign for the held note became our own — today it stands on every one of our bottles, an invitation and a promise at once.
