Color Intensity: measured depth, not hue

The standard

A measured color intensity names whether it is determined analytically or sensorially and what it refers to. Without this statement a figure stands next to an impression.

Criteria

  • It distinguishes depth of color from hue
  • It names its mode of determination: analytical or sensory
  • It refers to a particular wine, not a type
  • It remains separate from color stability

Distinction

Color intensity ≠ hue: one measures the strength, the other the kind of color. Color intensity ≠ color stability: a measured color intensity holds for a point in time, stability for the duration.
